[Class 12 (ii).] In a sash-cord pulley for sliding windows wherein a floating sleeve 3 is interposed between the boss 4 of the pulley and the axle 5, the latter is formed with grooves 8, Fig. 1, or a slot 9, Fig. 6, adapted to contain grease, the sleeve being formed with perforations 7 so that the grease has access to both the inner and outer surfaces of the sleeve. An annular chamber 10 may be formed in the pulley so as to form an additional reservoir for grease, radial apertures 11 being formed in the boss 4. The slot 9 may be recharged with grease, after removing the fitting from the window frame, through an axial passage in the axle normally closed by a plug; or a short length of tube 17, Fig. 7, may be fitted to the end of the axle and carried to the front plate 1 of the fitting, whereby grease may be supplied to the slot 9 without removing the fitting ; or grease may be supplied through a radial passage 13, Fig. 6, leading from the rim of the pulley to the chamber 10, whence it passes through the apertures 11 and longitudinal and circumferential grooves 14, 15 on the inner surface of the boss 4. |
