An apparatus capable of manufacturing a wide adhesive sheeted roll for contact cleaning comprises a rotatably mounted tension roller 110 and a rotatably mounted path roller 112 located below the tension roller 110. The rotatably mounted tension roller 110 includes ends which are height adjustable so that a gap which is provided between the rotatbly mounted tension roller 110 and the rotatably mounted path roller 112 for, in use, receiving a web 114, can be altered. By adjusting the height of the rotatably mounted tension roller 110, it ensures that a constant pressure is applied to the web 114. The apparatus preferably includes a dead-stop mechanism (118, fig 3) to limit the amount of vertical travel of the tension roller 110 and a brake mechanism 116 may also be included. The apparatus is said to allow sheeted rolls with a width of greater than 2.2m to be manufactured. A method of manufacture is also disclosed. |
