345,134. Fuel pumps. SWISS LOCOMOTIVE & MACHINE WORKS, Winterthur, Switzerland. April 24, 1930, No. 12673. Convention date, May 11, 1929. [Class 102 (i).] A fuel pump for oil engines is provided with a yieldable receiver communicating with the pump delivery between the pump chamber and delivery valve and of relatively small dimensions compared with the swept volume of the piston. Between the first delivery valve 8 and final delivery valve 17 of a pump 2 is a passage which communicates with the governing valve 19, a safety valve, and also a chamber 10 wherein is a yieldable piston 11 movable by a sleeve 12 under the control of a spring 13 and having a limiting stud 15. In a modification a flexible receiver under spring restraint may be utilized, and in this case instead of a governing valve the chamfered edge of the piston, which may be rotated, is utilized for governing. |
