601,153. Theft alarms. RUNBAKEN, J. H. Feb. 27, 1946, No. 5045/45. [Class 118 (i)] [Also in Group XXXVII] In a car theft-alarm of the type in which tilting of the vehicle closes a switch fitted transversely across the vehicle, a visual testing means is embodied. When switches p and s are closed, tilting of the vehicle will tilt a switch d (see Group XXXVII) and so sound the hooter or the like r. In order to test the alarm switch d, switch p is opened and a test switch o closed, so that when the vehicle is tilted a lamp q will light, or a resistance in series with the lamp q will be short-circuited so that the lamp brightens. The switches p and o may be ganged together, so that when one is closed, the other is open. In order to cut-off the alarm completely, a nullifying switch s is opened. |
