A two-stroke cycle cross-head low speed compression-ignition comprises as follows: (i) a step of supplying low sulfur fuel as main fuel or diesel fuel as a pilot fuel to an engine; (ii) a step of lubricating cylinders of the engine with lubricating oil while the lubricating oil has a base value (BN) of below 20, and includes one or more composite metal cleaning agents which contains two or more different metal cleaning agents having one selected surface active agent among phenate, salicylate, and sulfonate, or two or more different surface active soaps selected from among phenate, salicylate, and sulfonate. |
