Disclosed are apparatus and a method capable of diagnosing whether abnormality occurs in a current sensor or not, by comprising a shut resistor separately from the current sensor in a battery pack. The apparatus for diagnosing abnormality of the current sensor of the present invention is an apparatus which diagnoses the abnormality of the current sensor measuring a charging/discharging current by being comprised in a charging/discharging path of the battery pack, and includes: a shunt resistor installed on the charge/discharge path of the battery pack; and a control part which receives a current value measured from the current sensor, and calculates the current value flowing in the charging/discharging path of the battery pack through a voltage on both ends of the shunt resistor, and judges abnormality of the current sensor by comparing the inputted current value with the calculated current value.
