The present invention is aimed at providing an earthquake-resistant pipe joint apparatus to prevent leakage of water or gas flowing in pipe by appropriately absorbing warping, bending or twisting loads or pressures that may be applied to various piping such as waterworks, sewer, firefighting, gas, etc upon occurrence of external shocks or vibrations due to an earthquake, etc., so as to maintain original conditions without damages to the pipe joints. Earthquake-resistant pipe joint apparatus according to the present invention comprises; a pipe with flanges being respectively formed in protrusion on both end parts with formation of 1-4 sawtooth-shaped grooves with a cross section of right angle trapezoidal shape along an outer periphery face of the flange; and an elastic packing with formation of sawtooth-shaped protrusions inserted in engagement with the sawtooth-shaped grooves and being fastened in an uniform extension over two pipes while being fastened to the sawtooth-shaped grooves formed on a flange part of each pipe at a joint connecting pipes; and a pair of couplings with formation of spiral parts opposed respectively on an inner periphery face and an outer periphery face of a front end part so that the spiral parts are mutually coupled by threads upon fastening and being fastened in a condition of surrounding the outer periphery face of the elastic packing; and is characterized by fastening such that both ends inside the coupling abuts on a side face of the flange formed on a pipe.
