METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DETERMINING INDOOR POSITION BY USING WIRELESS LAN SIGNAL

A method and device for determining indoor solid position using a wireless LAN signal are disclosed. An indoor solid positioning device comprises a database which stores DB record information matching with wireless LAN radio wave environment information for APs (Access Points) installed on grid cells which are divided into indoor or outdoor cells according to cell IDs; a communication part which receives terminal radio wave environment information from a terminal when a positioning request signal is received from an external device; a building positioning checking part which checks whether the position of the terminal is an indoor location or not by analyzing the terminal radio wave environment information; a solid positioning part which determines the possibility of solid positioning by extracting the DB record information if the position of the terminal is an indoor location as a result of authentication of the building positioning checking part and calculates a solid position estimating value by performing the solid positioning including floor information using the terminal radio wave environment information and the DB record information if the solid positioning is possible; and a solid positioning providing part which provides the solid position estimating value to the terminal. According to the embodiment, the present invention improves the feel quality of a positioning service and the quality of a security service such as children's safety by providing solid positioning information capable of classifying the building by floor and provides a positioning statistics solution for the building in which pedestrian data analysis by floor is necessary.
