The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for sterilizing eggs. The apparatus includes a washing unit for washing the surface of eggs conveyed by a transfer conveyor, a sterilization unit for spraying acidic water and ozonated water to eggs to sterilize the eggs, and a drying unit for drying the washed eggs. The apparatus and the method for sterilizing eggs according to the present invention can sterilize bacteria on the surface of eggs conveyed by the transfer conveyor by spraying acidic water and ozonated water to the eggs and can extend quality preservation periods by sterilizing food poisoning bacteria using ozonated water. |
