A cushion mechanism (106) for a hydraulic cylinder (101), configured so that the speed of the piston rod (30) is reduced near the end of the stroke of the piston rod (30) relative to the cylinder tube (10). The cushion mechanism (106) is provided with: a cushion gap (8) for throttling the flow of operating fluid; a bypass path (50) for guiding the operating oil bypassing the cushion gap (8); and a bypass throttle adjustment mechanism (165) for adjusting the opening area of the bypass path (50). |
