A positioning system based on radio frequency identification (RFID) according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: multiple transmitters for periodically transmitting radio signals and comprising two main transmitters attached to a positioning object and multiple auxiliary transmitters fixated in arbitrary positions outside the positioning object; multiple receivers for receiving the radio signals transmitted from the multiple transmitters; and a positioning server for calculating difference values of the separated distances between the multiple transmitters and the multiple receivers using time differences occurring while the radio signals transmitted from the multiple transmitters reach the multiple receivers, evaluating noise in a positioning environment using the difference values, and determining the position of the positioning object by determining positioning values of the main transmitters using a distance value between the main transmitters according to the size of the noise or distance values between the main transmitters and the auxiliary transmitters.
