Use of an effective quantity of at least pyrimidine compounds (Q) or its salt as an agent for preventing and treating aesthetics skin defect and/or its appendices linked to an imbalance of the differentiation and/or proliferation of epidermal cells, is claimed. Use of an effective quantity of at least pyrimidine compounds (Q) of formulae (I) or (II) or its salt as an agent for preventing and treating aesthetics skin defect and/or its appendices linked to an imbalance of the differentiation and/or proliferation of epidermal cells, is claimed. R1 : H, linear or branched, optionally saturated 1-4C-alkyl or -C(O)R8; R8 : linear or branched, optionally saturated 1-4C-alkyl or phenyl; R2 : H, linear or branched, optionally saturated 1-12C-alkyl group or monovalent group of formula (Ia) or (IIb); R3-R7 : H, -NO 2, -OH, -OR8, -CN, Br, Cl, I, F, -CF 3, linear or branched, optionally saturated 1-4C-alkyl, phenyl, -OC(O)-R8 or -O-Ph-X; X : H, -OH, -NO 2, F, linear or branched, optionally saturated 1-4C-alkyl or alkoxy; and n : 0, 1 or 2.
