An electrophoresis display device and a driving method thereof are provided to reduce the size of memory by generating data using a lookup table having small capacity or a logical circuit. An electrophoresis display device includes an electrophoresis display panel, a memory(82), and a data generating circuit(81). The electrophoresis display panel includes plural data and gate lines that cross each other, and plural electrophoresis cells. The memory sequentially stores current and next state images. The data generating circuit reads the current state image, generates a reset waveform for initializing the electrophoresis cells during a reset period, reads the next state image during a data write period, generates a data waveform to be written to the electrophoresis cells, and supplies the reset and data waveforms to the data lines. |
