A method for separating and purifying coenzyme Q10 is provided to isolate the coenzyme Q10 with relatively high purity, which can be recrystallized without chemical treatment and mass-purify the coenzyme Q10 rapidly and economically. A method for separating and purifying coenzyme Q10 comprises the steps of: (a) extracting a culture broth of a coenzyme Q10 producing microorganism strain such as Rhodobacter spheroids with an organic solvent to obtain an extract including the coenzyme Q10; (b) after dissolving the extract in a non-polar solvent, passing an obtained solution through a column filled up with a silica gel resin to make a coenzyme Q10 ingredient and side products in the extract be absorbed into the silica gel; (c) passing a non-polar solvent through the column to desorb the non-polar side products; and (d) passing an eluent through the column to recover the coenzyme Q10. The method further comprises a step of recrystallizing the recovered coenzyme Q10 using ethanol. Further, the method additionally comprises a step of crystallizing the coenzyme Q10 into ethanol. |
