<p>347,581. Golf bags. LEATHER, F. J., 17, Wimbledon Park Road, Wandsworth, London. Dec. 24, 1929, No. 39473. [Class 132 (ii).] A golf bag is provided with a substantially rigid member 15 extending across the bag adjacent to the mouth, rigidly supported from the base of the bag by side members 19, and provided on each side with a row of slots 16 to receive the shafts of "iron" clubs. The slots are lined with rubber collars 17 frictionally to retain the clubs. The bag is further divided by an aluminium partition 27 and is strengthened by stays 28, 29 connecting the side members. The lower ends of the side members are secured to a metal ring 20, between which and flanges 21 of the baseplate the material of the bag is clamped. Leather-covered, metal leaves 31 project upwardly from distance-pieces 30, one leaf carrying a metal clip 34 for a score card and the other a perforated rubber pad 35 for peg tees 37. The wooden clubs are held by hook members 43 provided with rubber rings 44, the members being pivotally mounted in the distance pieces 30 and urged into the position shown by springs 45. The hood of the bag is provided with a sliding-clasp closing device and padlock.</p> |
