This health management system (S): extracts a specimen consisting of a food product that is produced or inspected using a work line (80) that includes one or more manufacturing steps or inspection steps; and registers with a server device (40), in association with work-line-related information that relates to the aforementioned work line (80) from which the specimen was extracted and includes health-management information for said work line (80), culture-medium information acquired by a handheld communication terminal (10) both before and after the extracted specimen was cultured.
