PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide chimeric flaviviruses that are attenuated and immunogenic.SOLUTION: A nucleic acid chimera comprises a first nucleotide sequence encoding at least one structural protein from a West Nile virus, and a second nucleotide sequence encoding nonstructural proteins from a dengue type 3 virus.
