PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for sensing a moving object around a vehicle, configured to allow a driver to easily determine a moving object around a vehicle via a navigation screen.SOLUTION: The apparatus for sensing a moving object around a vehicle of the present invention includes: a position sensing part that senses a position of a vehicle and a position of a fixed body located around the vehicle, on the basis of a map coordinate; a moving object detection part that detects moving object candidates on the basis of information measured via a distance measurement sensor provided in the vehicle, and detects a moving object by excluding the fixed bodies sensed by the position sensing part from the moving object candidates; a position estimation part that estimates the vehicle position and the moving object position to be located a predetermined time later, on the basis of the position and the speed of the moving object and moving direction information; and an approaching risk calculation part that calculates a risk of the moving object approaching the vehicle, on the basis of a distance between the vehicle and the moving object and speed information, based on the estimated vehicle and moving object positions estimated by the position estimation part. |
