PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive support device and a drive support method that appropriately determine whether or not a drive support is required, and can execute an effective drive support.SOLUTION: A drive support device 1 is configured to: respectively calculate a time to collision (TTC) until a self vehicle arrives at an intersection where the self vehicle intersects with a moving body in an advancing direction of the self vehicle and in a direction intersecting with the advancing direction and a time to vehicle (TTV) until the moving body arrives at the intersection; determine whether or not a drive support in the self vehicle is executed on the basis of a drive support condition preliminarily set as to a relative relation between the TTC and the TTV; and start the drive support at an early stage as a time lag taken until the drive support condition is satisfied after the moving body is detected for the first time gets smaller. |
