PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination system with reduced standby power.SOLUTION: A standby power reduction illumination system comprises a main control section 200 for controlling an illumination device by a control signal transferred from an external device; a driver 400, connected to a the main control section, for sending the control signal to the illumination device; and an AC-DC conversion circuit 500 for supplying power to the driver. The main control section includes an illumination control section 220 for controlling the illumination device; a standby power supply section 230 for supplying standby power; and a power control section 240 for maintaining voltage of the standby power supply section at a constant level. When an illumination off signal is transferred, a power supplied from the AC-DC conversion circuit is blocked while illumination is turned off; the illumination control section switches an operational state of the illumination device from a normal mode to a standby mode; and the power control part periodically checks a voltage of the standby power supply section to confirm whether the voltage is equal to or lower than a preset value, and when the voltage is equal to or lower than the preset value, the power control section charges the standby power supply section. |
