PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device of an active shutter system which allows for adjusting brightness of a three-dimensional image while suppressing crosstalk occurrence.SOLUTION: Backlight drive means and shutter drive means adjust a period of light entrance to the eyes which starts with the start of lighting a backlight and finishes with closing of right-eye shutter and a left-eye shutter so as to minimize the crosstalk without regard to the luminance of an image displayed on a liquid crystal panel. This allows for displaying an image of high quality.
