PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a raw material monomer of a polyether sulfone by decomposing a polyether sulfone resin material to its raw material monomer in a good efficiency, and a method for producing the polyether sulfone by using the obtained raw material monomer.SOLUTION: A method for producing a raw material monomer of a polyether sulfone includes making a polyether sulfone resin material in contact with subcritical water dissolved with a base such as sodium hydroxide and decomposing the polyether sulfone resin material to its raw material monomer to obtain a raw material monomer of the polyether sulfone and polymerizing the obtained raw material monomer of the polyether sulfone.
