PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable dating apparatus capable of reducing measurement errors caused by difference in samples and dating rocks in various rock sampling places by measuring K and Ar contained in a single rock sample by using an LIBS method.SOLUTION: A K-Ar dating apparatus 1 includes: a pulse laser device 3 for condensing pulse laser beams to a surface of a rock sample 2; a toroidal type concave diffraction grating 5 arranged so as to diffract light 4 emitted from a substance evaporated and excited from the surface of the sample 2; a detector 8 (a combination of a microchannel plate (MCP) and a multi-anode) arranged so as to detect an Ar bright line with a wavelength of 107 nm included in primary light 6 of the toroidal type concave diffraction grating 5 in a vacuum ultraviolet region; and a band pass filter 9 and a photodiode 10 arranged to detect a K bright line with a wavelength of 767 nm included in 0-order light 7 of the toroidal type concave diffraction grating 5. |
