<p>This driving characteristics estimation device is provided with an operation start index value calculation unit (1a) and a driving characteristics estimation unit (1b), said operation start index value calculation unit (1a) calculating an index value for an operation start timing for an operation by the driver of a vehicle. On the basis of per-condition probability density functions for the operation start timing with respect to the operation start timing index value and on the basis of the operation start timing index value calculated by the operation start index value calculation unit (1a), the driving characteristics estimation unit (1b) determines ratios of the probability densities of each probability density function at the calculated index value to the total of those probability densities, and applies weights to the ratios of the probability densities to the total to estimate the driving characteristics of the driver.</p> |
