A device authentication method exchanging a value needed in authentication between a device and an authentication server through a device register process and checking whether it is a rightful device by using a value obtained during the previous device register process is provided. The device authentication method a step in which a device encodes a user identification number, password, and device identification number, transmits them to an authentication server, uses the user identification number and password in the device to compare them with a created value, authenticates if it is a rightful device, stores the device identification number, and registers the device, and a step in which the authentication server uses the stored user information and device identification number to authenticate the device.
