The display apparatus includes a display unit which displays a screen including at least one content, a communication unit which communicates with a user terminal to control an operation of the display apparatus, and a control unit which transmits screen data corresponding to at least a part of the screen to be displayed on the user terminal in accordance with a predetermined event and reconfigures the screen so that an area of the screen corresponding to the transmitted screen data is distinguished from remaining areas of the screen.
