Provided is a device for managing entrance to and exit from a room, the device capable of ensuring high security without requiring a complicated authentication operation and capable of reducing the power consumption of an active-type RFID tag. To this end, a device for managing entrance to and exit from a room is provided with: a first tag in which authentication information unique to each individual is prestored; a second tag which transmits a radio signal by a built-in power supply; an authentication information acquisition means which acquires the authentication information relating to the first tag by an authentication operation; a detection means which detects the second tag within a predetermined tag determination range by the radio signal; and a control means which controls the locked/unlocked state of a door on the basis of the result of the comparison of the authentication information relating to the first tag acquired by the authentication information acquisition means. Upon receiving an activation signal from the detection means, the second tag is activated and transmits the radio signal. When having succeeded in the comparison, the control means transmits the activation signal to activate the second tag, further confirms the result of the detection by the detection means, and controls the locked/unlocked state of the door on the basis of the result of the detection. |
