The invention relates to a method for detecting and tracking targets in a series of optoelectronic images which includes cutting each image into image portions, and allocating a sequence for tracking each image portion. The tracking sequence is selected according to the level of clutter that is determined for each image portion. Said sequence is then used to test plots that are detected in the image portion, relative to the presence of same in a plurality of successive images. An enhanced compromise is thus obtained between the probability of a false track and the mean tracking time. |
