PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device that enables the battery capacity of a secondary battery at the time when charging/discharging is started, to be estimated in a state where charging/discharging is not performed, the method and device using a combination of plural estimation methods to obtain more appropriate estimation values.SOLUTION: Calculation means calculates a first temporary estimation value (SOC1) on the basis of integration of charging/discharging amounts of a secondary battery, and also calculates a second temporary estimation value (SOC2) on the basis of an open circuit voltage (OCV) of the secondary battery. Control means selects one of SOC1 and SOC2 according to the situation, and sets the selected value as the estimation value of battery capacity of the secondary battery. |
