A method for fixed wireless terminal locking a cell and the fixed wireless terminal. The method comprises: when a network service startup instruction arrives, obtaining current location information of the fixed wireless terminal; determining whether a distance between the current location information and reference location information is less than or equal to a preset distance threshold value; if yes, allowing the fixed wireless terminal to normally initiate a network service; if no, prohibiting the fixed wireless terminal from initiating the network service. Embodiments of the present invention adopt an area with a fixed proportion, and as long as the specified preset distance threshold value is the same, a range for even different fixed wireless terminals locking the cell is sure to be the same. An effective network coverage range determined according to the cell locking method is only related to a reference location and the distance threshold value, which avoids the problem that locking the cell fails at a junction of the cells or an optimal cell cannot be used, and ensures accuracy of the range for locking the cell. |
