<p>A power tool that uses a screw to open a hole in an object to be tightened, tightens the screw, and comprises a motor as a drive source. A motor control unit controls the motor such that the motor speed is suitable for the operation input received by an operation reception unit, and has a preset maximum speed as the upper limit for the motor speed. When the motor is started, the maximum speed is set to a first maximum speed. After the motor is started and once the opening of the hole, by the screw, in the object to be tightened has been detected, the maximum speed is set to a second maximum speed lower than the first maximum speed. The second maximum speed is set in accordance with the thickness of a material, so as to become lower the smaller the material thickness.</p> |
