PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper supporting device, an image forming apparatus and an image reading apparatus which are excellent in operability and have high performance.SOLUTION: A printer 1 of an embodiment 1 includes a paper feed tray 3. The paper feed tray 3 includes: a tray body 7; a support table 9; a side guide 11 located at one end side; a side guide 13 located at the other end side; and an interlocking means 15. The interlocking means 15 includes: a first interlocking mechanism 17; a second interlocking mechanism 19; and a gear transmission mechanism 21. The first interlocking mechanism 17 is composed of: a first rack 17A located at one end side; a first rack 17B located at the other end side; and a first pinion 17C. The second interlocking mechanism 19 is composed of: a second rack 19A located at one end side; a second rack 19B located at the other end side; and a second pinion 19C. The gear transmission mechanism 21 is composed of: first and second gears 21A and 21B; and an intermediate gear 21C. Regarding the paper feed tray 3, the first and second pinions 17C and 19C are rotated in synchronism with each other through the first and second gears 21A and 21B and the intermediate gear 21C, and thereby, the first interlocking mechanism 17 and the second interlocking mechanism 19 operate in association with each other. |
