PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved perfluoropolymer composite that uses a blend of a perfluoropolymer (such as PTFE) and a silicone polymer.SOLUTION: By coating a substrate 602, such as glass fiber fabric, with a blend of a perfluoropolymer and a silicone polymer, an adhesive layer 608 can be bonded either directly to the surface of the perfluoropolymer composite 600 or to a perfluoropolymer composite that has been primed without the need to have otherwise treated the perfluoropolymer surface, either by etching or by the deposition of an intermediate coating containing a colloidal silica or other similar agents, to make the surface bondable.
