PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an LED driving device capable of appropriately detecting an abnormal state according to a dimming state.SOLUTION: An LED driving device 1 drives an LED module 10 provided in a lighting apparatus 100 and in which LED units 10a and 10b are connected in parallel. The LED driving device 1 includes a DC/DC converter 2 outputting a drive power to the LED module 10, a current detection circuit 3 outputting a detection voltage VL corresponding to currents Ia and Ib flowing through the LED module 10, and a control circuit section 4. The LED driving device 1 performs a dimming operation for the LED module 10 according to an inputted dimming instruction signal Sad. The control circuit section 4 obtains a threshold voltage corresponding to the dimming instruction signal Sad. The control circuit section 4 compares the detected voltage and the obtained threshold voltage and detects an abnormal state of the LED module on the basis of the comparison result.
