PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water gate having a simple structure, with a gate capable of being automatically closed at swelling of a main stream, preventing dust from being accumulated at ordinary water-level, and maintenance-free.SOLUTION: A water gate installed in a dam body of a merge point of a main stream and a drain channel from a landside area comprises at least: a vertical shaft with one end or both ends fixed to a river bed or the dam body; a rotatable steel pipe loosely fitted on the vertical shaft used as a central shaft; a single swing gate horizontally rotating around the steel pipe fixed at an upstream side position with the rotation of the steel pipe to close the drain channel; and a pressure receiving plate fixed to the gate so as to project to the main stream side at an angle of 90 to 120 degrees at a downstream side position of the gate. The main stream side of the dam body near the water gate is an approximately vertical plane, and the vertical plane and the vertical shaft are located almost on the same plane. |
