The device (5) has a loading socket integrated into an illumination device (2) of a vehicle (1), where the illumination device is a headlight, a rear light, a side lamp, a day driving lamp or mist lamp. The illumination device comprises a source of light for visual display of a charge of an electrical energy store coupled with the loading socket. The illumination device is moved from an operating position into a load position, so that the loading socket is freely accessible in the positions for coupling with a loading plug.
