PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide means for obtaining hexagonal ferrite magnetic powder arranged to be able to bring about excellent magnetic property by selectively removing ultra-fine particle components in a glass crystallization method.SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing hexagonal ferrite magnetic powder comprises the steps of: melting a raw material mixture containing a glass-forming component and a hexagonal ferrite-forming component into a melt; quenching the melt to obtain a solidified material thereof; performing heat treatment on the solidified material to cause deposition of hexagonal ferrite magnetic particles and a glass component in the solidified material; performing acid treatment on the solidified material after the heat treatment to dissolve the glass component; putting the hexagonal ferrite magnetic particles obtained after the acid treatment in an acidic aqueous solution; separating particles distributed in the aqueous solution and particles having precipitated therein from each other; and collecting the particles having precipitated after cleaning thereof. |
