PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rivet detaching method that can eliminate impact noise, achieve a safe detaching operation, and shorten an operation time when detaching rivets joining a plurality of steel plate materials stacked in a large-sized steel structure.SOLUTION: A rivet detaching method is for removing a rivet 50A of a large-sized steel structure. In a head removing process, heads 50b, 50c at both ends of a rivet 50A are removed. In a through hole forming process, a through hole 50f is formed which is coaxial with the rivet 50A and has a diameter smaller than the diameter of a shaft part 50a of the rivet 50A. In a pin inserting process, a shaft part 70a of a pin 70 is inserted into the through hole 50f from one end side of the rivet 50A, and a diameter-enlarged part 70b of the pin 70 having a diameter larger than the shaft part 70a of the pin 70 is engaged with an end face 50d of the rivet 50A. In a pin pulling-out process, the shaft part 70a of the pin 70 which projects from the through hole 50f is pulled out to the other end side of the rivet 50A, and the rivet 50A is detached. |
