PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper conveying roller cleaning method capable of continuously preventing adhesion of dust without using a cleaning sheet with a small burden on a user, and to provide a paper sheet cassette and a printing apparatus.SOLUTION: A printing apparatus has a paper sheet cassette separated from a printer body. The printing apparatus includes: a paper conveying means 41 for moving a printing paper drawn from the paper sheet cassette back and forth while holding the printing paper between a paper conveying roller and a grip roller; a cleaning member 22 for scraping adhering dust by being brought into pressure contact with the paper conveying roller; a dust collection means 23 for collecting the dust scraped by the cleaning member 22; a pressure contact switching means 100 for switching whether to bring the cleaning member 22 into pressure contact with a conveying roller; and a cleaning means position changing means 44 for changing the positions of cleaning means (22, 23) by means of the direction of moving the paper by the paper conveying means 41.
