BLOOD PURIFYING DEVICE AND PRIMING METHOD THEREFOR

[Problem] To provide a blood purifying device and priming method for this device which facilitates automation of a priming process using a dialysate as the priming liquid, performs the priming process in a short period of time, and reliably cleans a blood purifying membrane. [Solution] Provided are a dialyzer (3) in which a blood passage (alpha) for the patient's blood and a dialysate passage (beta) for the dialysate are formed via a hollow fiber membrane (M) for purifying the blood; and a dialysate introduction line (L1) and dialysate discharge line (L2) connected to the inlet and the outlet of the dialysate passage (alpha) in the dialyzer (3). The blood purifying device is able to connect the ends of an arterial blood circuit (1) and a venous blood circuit (2) during the priming performed prior to treatment, and the blood purifying device includes control means (11) for performing positive filtration during priming in which the dialysate passes from the blood passage (alpha) to the dialysate passage (beta) via the hollow fiber membrane (M) in the dialyzer (3).
