The arrangement (10) has a first screw element (20) for fixing a bearing retainer (18) at a crank case (16) for supporting a bearing element (12) limiting a crankshaft of a reciprocating internal combustion engine. The screw element is indirectly supported on the bearing element and penetrates through a through hole (25) of the crank case. The screw element is screwed at the crank case over a screw thread (22). A second screw element (26) is removably fixed at the crank case over another screw thread (24). A third screw element (32) is fixed with the second screw element. An independent claim is also included for a method for fastening a bearing element at a crank case of a reciprocating internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle.
