The gravity feed system (80) has a deflected corner station (10) arranged between an infeed- (12) and a discharge roller conveyor (14) with an intersection area (15). A transport direction (Z,A) of a cargo (50) is deflected around a deflection angle within the deflected corner station. A receiving plate is provided for carrying the intersection area (15). The plane of the receiving plate is pivotable from a horizontal plane to the inclination planes (N1,N2) of the infeed- and discharge roller conveyor respectively and vice-versa. An independent claim is included for a method for transporting cargo, such as containers, cartons or objects.
