An objective of the present invention is to avoid a degradation of detection precision of a touch panel by coupling noise which arises from an AC reverse drive of a display panel, and to alleviate a deterioration in image quality from a drive protocol of a the display panel. An information apparatus according to the present invention comprises a display unit further comprising a touch panel, and a display control unit which switches a drive mode of the display unit on the basis of a frequency of use of an operation upon the touch panel unit. If the frequency of use is less than or equal to a prescribed value, the display control unit selects a first AC reverse drive mode which reverses the polarity for each of a first reverse period, and in other circumstances, selects a second AC reverse drive mode which reverses the polarity for each of a second reverse period which is longer than the first reverse period.
