PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens drive device capable of detecting the position of a holding part over a wide movement range.SOLUTION: A lens drive device 50 moving a lens (32) in the direction of an optical axis (OA) with respect to a support part (37) includes a holding part (38) which can be moved by the support part, drive means (51) driving the holding part, and position detection means (52) detecting the position of the holding part. The drive means includes a coil 54 forming a linear cable run orthogonal to the direction of the optical axis and a magnetic circuit 53 which has a magnetic pole surface forming a magnetic field orthogonal to the direction of the optical axis and the cable run and in which the magnetic pole surface is provided to face the cable run. The magnetic circuit 53 is provided so that a pair of side edge parts are inclined in the direction of the optical axis. The position detection means includes a magnetic detection element 64. The magnetic detection element 64 is provided to face one side edge part of the magnetic pole surface, when viewed in the direction of the magnetic field formed by the magnetic circuit 53. |
