PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive method for producing a crystal.SOLUTION: A method for producing a crystal includes: a step for storing a material in a recessed groove of a die; a step for melting the material, and allowing the molten material to fill the recessed groove and to form a thin film; a step for lowering a seed crystal to bring its lower surface into contact with the surface of the thin film, and forming a solid-liquid interface between the lower surface of the seed crystal and the surface of the thin film so that the shape and the size of the lower surface of the seed crystal agree with the shape and the size of the surface of the thin film; and a step for pulling up the seed crystal, and solidifying the molten material on the solid-liquid interface of the seed crystal to thereby form a crystal. |
