PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simulation method and a simulation device capable of predicting energy loss in steady and transient states highly accurately in analyzing the energy loss and providing information useful for designing a tire.SOLUTION: A simulation method includes a step A to create a tire model in which a material model having a non-elastic part and an elastic part is defined, and a predetermined element is included, a step B to create a road surface model, a step C to roll the tire model, a step D to calculate an elastic strain energy variation quantity &Dgr;Wfor each of six elements separated into a vertical element and a shearing element at a minute time during the rolling motion on the basis of incremental strain and stress of the elastic part, and to calculate a work variation &Dgr;Wfor each of the six elements on the basis of incremental strain and stress of the predetermined element, and a step E to calculate a dissipation energy &Dgr;Wfor each of the six elements by subtracting the &Dgr;Wfrom the &Dgr;W. |
