[Class 79 (iii)] A stand for supporting the axle of a motor vehicle or the like, comprises a body in which is mounted a tubular or similar support adapted to carry the load on its head and furnished with projections at intervals which pass through openings in the head of the stand and which rest thereon when the support is given part rotation. As shown, the stand comprises three legs 1, braced by a member 2 and provided with a shaped head 3, the head and bracing member being provided with aligned holes through which passes a tubular or like support member 4. The head has formed therein a pair of diametrically opposed slots 7 and at right angles thereto a pair of recesses. A number of spaced projections 8 are formed integrally on the support 4 and are adapted to pass through the slots 7 and upon rotation of the support engage and rest in the recesses in the head 3 at the desired height. A V-shaped member 9 is secured to the top of the support 4 for carrying the load. |
