The apparatus has an air nozzle station (3) arranged in a brush station (2). Air suction units are provided in the region of the air nozzle station. An electromotor is attached for a rotary drive of brushes (4) at a carrier (5). The electromotor is arranged on a top face of the carrier and formed by a bridge (16) within a bonnet (6). Guide bars are secured at an outer side of the bridge. A kettle with pressurized air is arranged within the bonnet. A pneumatic drive i.e. pneumatic cylinder (17), for vertical adjustment of the carrier is arranged within the bonnet.
