The present invention relates to an image display device and a manufacturing method thereof. It includes a first substrate including a plurality of data wires and a plurality of gate wires defining a plurality of pixel areas crossing with each other, a display panel attached to the first substrate and including a second substrate including a plurality of color filter patterns, a first and second polarizing plates placed on the first and second substrates respectively and selectively transmitting specific light, a cover bottom placed in the bottom of the display panel, and a cover window placed on the top of the display panel. The display panel shows that the first substrate is a display surface, a step compensation pattern is formed on a rear surface opposite to a surface of a bezel part of the first substrate on which an operating driver IC is formed, and an adhesive layer is formed on the first polarizing plate and the step compensation pattern. |
