PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable and large capacity magnetic storage device allowing for high manufacturing yield and high recording density.SOLUTION: A magnetic storage device comprises: a magnetic recording medium; a microwave assisted magnetic recording head including a recording magnetic pole generating a recording magnetic field for performing writing to the magnetic recording medium, a high frequency magnetic field oscillation element generating a high frequency magnetic field, and means for energizing the high frequency magnetic field oscillation element; a magnetic reproducing head that reads information from the magnetic recording medium; and means for controlling and processing recording operation of the magnetic recording head and reproducing operation of the magnetic reproducing head. During a non-recording period before energization of the recording magnetic pole, the high frequency magnetic field oscillation element is energized by the means for energizing the high frequency magnetic field oscillation element, and then the recording magnetic pole is energized, thereby performing recording operation. |
